I can't help you with a studio (I live in CA), but there is a intensive in NYC every year. I would highly suggest trying it and looking it to it.

My daughter was taking ballet and so she took so tap dance classes too at a ballet academy on the upper east side. But we were amazed at the difference in the classes at the American Tap Dance Foundation. Even Brenda Bufalino, the tap dance legend, teaches there. It's probably the best place to take tap dance in the world.

When I first moved to NYC, I had a hard time finding great tap dance lessons in NYC. But then I found out about the American Tap Dance Foundation. They have amazing teachers and you can find a lesson most days of the week. They teach tap dance lessons for everyone from toddlers to seniors. I would definitely recommend the ATDF.
